Pilates Studio - Reformer

What Is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise methodology developed by Mr. Joseph Pilates and his wife, Clara. Pilates focuses on controlled movements, using the core and coordinated breathing. The Pilates method is touted to create longer, leaner muscles, improve posture, strengthen the spine, and reduce the incidence of disc herniation.

What is the Benefit?

Pilates is a mind-body exercise that is challenging and gentle. The Pilates apparatus assists or resists the client’s movement depending on their physical condition and can be performed daily for the entirety of one’s life. Pilates increases the strength, flexibility, balance, and posture of your body. Over time clients will develop better body awareness which leads to a more efficient pattern of movement.

``The acquirement and enjoyment of physical well-being, mental calm and spiritual peace are priceless to their possessors.” – Joseph Pilate
What to Wear

Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothes that you can move in. Stretchy fabrics are better than excessively baggy clothing, and clothes that cover when you move, bend, twist or have your legs in the air are recommended. Socks with grips are optional and available for purchase at the studio. Grippy socks are available for purchase in the studio. Please, no jewelry.

When To Arrive

Please arrive ten minutes early for your first session to fill out a Health Form and Studio Waiver to avoid missing out on any of your workout time. There is a parking lot in front of the building, and the Pilates studio is inside the main door and to the right. Please call the studio if you need help with directions.

Refunds

Refunds are not available; however, we are happy to offer account credit. Please get in touch with us for more information.

What To Bring

Bring yourself and an optional small towel. We will provide you with one at the studio if need be. We also have a water cooler and cups available.

Your First Class

Your first class will typically start at a slower, more moderate pace. We have no designated “beginner” class, so take your time and get acclimated with the Reformer and the Pilates movements. We will spend extra time teaching you proper Pilates form and beginner movements.

Cancellations

All Pilates classes have a 12-hour cancellation policy. Late cancelations will be returned to your account if we can fill your spot. All Private and Semi-private appointments have a 24-hour cancellation policy. There is a two-hour “lockout” before classes. If you have not signed up more than two hours before your desired class, you must contact the studio directly to see if we can add you.
